Telecommunications service provider Wharf T&T said yesterday the company has changed its name to WTT HK and it will focus on building up its distributors' network and cloud services, including network security, in the next two and three years. The company has partnerships with 55,000 enterprises and covers 90 percent of business customers with its high-speed broadband network. WTT will roll out a series of rebranding events. Customers who subscribed to 200M Fibre Business Broadband will get one free ecMeFi WiFi device which can be used in more than 100 countries together with 1GB of local and roaming data. Chief executive Vincent WS Ma said the company will pay more attention to furthering the alliances with distributors to develop better service plans. Meanwhile, WTT will focus on cloud services by partnering with companies worldwide and is planning to improve security. Its rival, HKBN (1310), has been cutting its mobile service fees in the past six months. Ma said this had no influence as customers mainly concentrate on quality of service rather than charges.
