More than half of staff members at Hang Seng Bank (0011) will get more days of annual leave from January 1.
Hang Seng Bank has 8,000 staff members in Hong Kong, and about 4,500 are in line for more paid leave.
About 2,500 of them will enjoy an increase of four days. That means annual leave for most staff will from next year range from 18 to 30 days.
But some people who joined the bank before January 1, 2011, can qualify for 32 days.
The review of the annual leave system is the first major initiative on staff since Louisa Cheang Wai-wan became the new vice chairwoman and chief executive last month.
The bank says the aim is to rebalance staff members' working lives and time away from the job and thus enhance competitiveness.
