Chairman and managing director of Great Eagle Holdings (0041) Lo Ka-shui recently purchased shares of Champion REIT (2778) for HK$3.83 million, increasing his stake in the company from 66.17 percent to 66.18 percent.
Lo, also the chairman and a non-executive director of Champion REIT, acquired 746,000 shares of the company for HK$5.13 on Friday, according to a Stock Exchange filing.
Lo has recently been involved in a family estate dispute in which his mother, Lo To Lee-kwan, sought to dismiss HSBC as the family trustee.
The family trust was founded in 1984 by Lo To and Great Eagle founder Lo Ying Shek, who passed away in 2006.
Shares of Great Eagle climbed 0.26 percent to HK$38.65 at the close yesterday, and shares of Champion REIT climbed 0.38 percent to HK$5.29.
Lo Ka-shui, 61, is the father of Katherine Lo Bo-lun, who is in senior management at Great Eagle Holdings.
Lo Ka-shui is also the chairman of the publicly listed trust of Langham Hospitality Investment (1270), with an initial asset portfolio comprising hotels The Langham, Cordis and Eaton in Kowloon.
In the past two years, he was an independent non-executive director of China Mobile (0941), Shanghai Industrial Holdings (0363), Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings (2008) and City e-Solutions (0557).
