A 1,700 square foot shop rented by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery in Percival Street in Causeway Bay had its rent cut by 52 percent to HK$720,000 per month, or HK$423 per square foot. The monthly rent was HK$1.5 million.
Meanwhile, the rent of a 1,000 square feet shop in Lockhart Road in Causeway Bay was also reduced 43 percent to HK$265,000 per month. The monthly rent was HK$ 2.65 million.
In the secondary market, a three-bedroom home including a packing space in Baguio Villa in Pok Fu Lam, with a sellable area of 1,296 square feet, was sold for HK$26.28 million, or HK$20,278 pssf. Qfang.com said the vendor purchased the flat in 2012 for HK$17.75 million, earning a book profit of HK$8.53 million. As well, a 906 square feet flat in the same area sold for HK$14.45 million or HK$1,5949 pssf. Midland Realty said the seller bought the flat in 2014 for HK$11 million, earning a book profit of HK$34.5 million.
A flat including the rooftop, with a sellable area of 327 square feet, in City One Shatin was sold for HK$5.75 million or HK$17,584 per sq ft, which is the highest selling price among similar units. It appreciated 96 percent compared with the purchase price of HK$2.93 million in 2012, according to Midland Realty.
