Bank rolls out phone ticketing
Hang Seng Bank (0011) plans to roll out eticketing services via mobile phone in 10 branches by the end of this year and cover 76 branches next year, said head of digital banking Herman Cheng. The eticketing service will allow customers to get a ticket for counter services in advance to save waiting time. In other developments, Sun Dawei, general manager of the personal banking and wealth management department at Bank of China Hong Kong (2388), has stepped down and will replace Michael Wang Lan as chief executive of virtual bank Livi VB, which is backed by Bank of China Hong Kong, local media reported. Eddie Yue Wai-man, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, said last month that the first batch of virtual banks is expected to start operations at the end of this year or early next year.
